Date Night: The Chicago Magic Lounge

Chicago Magic Lounge is one of its most-unique drinking and entertainment venues. It’s part speakeasy thanks to a full bar. Grab a signature cocktail and small bite. Then head to the main attraction, the magic — the lounge features.

The Chicago Magic Lounge one of the best hidden gems Chicago has to offer. When I say hidden, I mean hidden. My wife and I spent 5 mins looking for this place. After walking up and down the block and few times and double checking our phones for the right address 5050 N Clark St. We arrived at laundromat. The wall opens and just like that we're in a speakeasy magic bar.

Once inside we had the option to can stay at the bar to eat and drink or buy a ticket to the main theater to see magic while listening to a live band. We had a few drinks from the bartender who was also a sleight of hand magician.

After a few drinks we decided to head to the main theater, but we stopped by the bathroom first. Typically this would be considered too much information, but even the bathroom was Instagram worthy.

As the show was about to begin. People were ushered to what appeared to be a library. We all looked at each other as we tried to figure out what was about to happen next, and out of nowhere one of the bookshelves opened and we all took our seats in the theater.

A band took the stage and different magicians came around to our table and preformed. It was really romantic and intimate. We continued to order drinks and listen to the band. After a few set a magician would take the stage and preform more elaborate tricks.

Overall we had an amazing time. We recommend that anyone in the Chicagoland area looking spice up date night a bit stop by. Tickets to the magic show are equal to what you'll pay to see a new movie in theaters. Drinks were reasonably priced as well average around $10 a piece. For under a $100 experience something new.
